Zoey Chen

Assistant Professor of Marketing at University of Miami

Zoey Chen is Assistant Professor of Marketing at University of Miami. She studies the psychology mechanisms behind online word of mouth and social sharing. Some of the questions she examines include: What types of word of mouth do people preferentially share with others? What are the motivations behind online sharing? Why do consumers value some word of mouth more than others? and How should companies incentivize consumers to make referrals? Her work has appeared in top journals, including the Journal of Marketing Research and the Journal of Consumer Research, and has received press coverage in the Harvard Business Review, Fox Business, Entrepreneur Magazine, Vancouver Sun, etc. She holds a Ph.D. in Marketing from Georgia Tech and a B.S. in Marketing/Finance from NYU Stern.
