Özden Gür Ali joined Koç University Department of Business Administration in 2004. Dr Gür Biyografi Ali has more than ten years of R&D and analytic consulting experience in the USA prior to her academic career. Most recently at ZS Associates she was consulting pharmaceutical clients in sales and marketing strategy and operations. Previously, she was with General Electric Research and Development where she worked with GE businesses using data mining and quality (Six Sigma) methods. She received her PhD in Decision Sciences and Engineering Systems, and MS in Industrial and Management Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute; and her BS in Industrial Engineering from Bosphorus University. Her current research is in data mining in retail and customer relationship management; in particular predictive modeling for demand forecasting and sales response to promotions, customer churn, and cross-sell models. She has led research and consulting projects with major companies in Turkey, as well, such as Yapı Kredi Bank and Migros. She has published many articles on data mining in journals such as European J of Operational Research, Decision Support Systems, IEEE Tr. Knowledge and Data Engineering, IEEE Tr. Neural Networks, and in conferences such as KDD (Knowledge Discovery in Databases).
