Esel Çekin, is the Executive Director at the Graduate School of Business at Koc University. She received her PhD in Economics in 1997 at the City University of New York Graduate School. She earned a BA in Economics at Bogazici Univesity, Turkey. She started as a consultant at Bain & Co. Management Consultancy Istanbul office in 1997 and participated in many projects including retail, automotive, health and textile. She joined Boyner Holding, the largest non-food retail group in Turkey, as the Vice President for the Strategy and Business Development. During her tenure, she took the responsibility of COO of the Holding in 2003. She served as Chief Executive Officer of Beymen, luxury department store chain of Boyner Holding between 2004 and 2009. She established her own practice of retail and luxury consultancy, Mikado Danismanlik ve Egitim in 2009. She is currently teaching retail management courses at the undergraduate and graduate level at Koc University, Turkey.
